George Carlin on aging!
(Absolutely Brilliant)
IF YOU DON'T READ THIS TO THE VERY END, YOU HAVE LOST A DAY IN YOUR LIFE.
AND WHEN YOU HAVE FINISHED, DO AS I AM DOING AND SEND IT ON.

George Carlin's Views on Aging

Do you realize that the only time in our lives when we like to get old is
when we're kids? If you're less than 10 years old, you're so excited about
aging that you think in fractions.

'How old are you?' 'I'm four and a half!' You're never thirty-six and a
half. You're four and a half, going on five! That's the key.

You get into your teens, now they can't hold you back. You jump to the next
number, or even a few ahead.

'How old are you?' 'I'm gonna be 16!' You could be 13, but hey, you're gonna
be 16! And then the greatest day of your life! You become 21. Even the words
sound like a ceremony. YOU BECOME 21. YESSSS!!!

But then you turn 30. Oooohh, what happened there? Makes you sound like bad
milk! He TURNED; we had to throw him out. There's no fun now, you're Just a
sour-dumpling.. What's wrong? What's changed?

You BECOME 21, you TURN 30, then you're PUSHING 40. Whoa! Put on the brakes,
it's all slipping away. Before you know it, you REACH 50 and your dreams are
gone.

But! Wait!! ! You MAKE it to 60. You didn't think you would!

So you BECOME 21, TURN 30, PUSH 40, and REACH 50 and make it to 60.

You've built up so much speed that you HIT 70! After that it's a day-by-day
thing; you HIT Wednesday!

You get into! your 80's and every day is a complete cycle; you HIT lunch;
you TURN 4:30; you REACH bedtime. And it doesn't end there. Into the 90s,
you start going backwards; 'I Was JUST 92.'

Then a strange thing happens. If you make it over 100, you become a little
kid again. 'I'm 100 and a half!'
May you all make it to a healthy 100 and a half!!

HOW TO STAY YOUNG
1. Throw out nonessential numbers. This includes age, weight and height. Let
the doctors worry about them. That is why you pay 'them.'

2. Keep only cheerful friends. The grouches pull you down.

3. Keep learning. ! Learn more about the computer, crafts, gardening,
whatever, even ham radio. Never let the brain idle. 'An idle mind is the
devil's workshop.' And the devil's family name is Alzheimer's.

4. Enjoy the simple things.

5. Laugh often, long and loud. Laugh until you gasp for breath.

6. The tears happen. Endure, grieve, and move on. The only person, who is
with us our entire life, is ourselves. Be ALIVE while you are alive.

7. Surround yourself with what you love, whether it's family, pets,
keepsakes, music, plants, hobbies, whatever.. Your home is your refuge.

8. Cherish your health: If it is good, preserve it. If it is unstable,
improve it. If it is beyond what you can improve, get help.

9. Don't take guilt trips.. Take a trip to the mall, even to the next
county; to a foreign country but NOT to where the guilt is.

10. Tell the people you love that you love them, at every opportunity.
AND ALWAYS REMEMBER:
Life is not measured by the number of breaths we take, but by the moments
that take our breath away.
And if you don't send this to at least 8 people - who cares? But do share
this with someone. We all need to live life to its fullest each day!!

Life's journey is not to
arrive at the grave safely
in a well preserved body,
but rather to skid in sideways,
totally worn out, shouting
"...holy sh*t ...what a ride!"

thanks Raven!

i got this clip from a site given to me by Raven Laments    this wood be me every mornin with my java even in the summer   i'll post the website in a sec.....so anyways, i'm just chillin today   had lunch with Stephen and borrowed his bicycle so i can start gettin' back in shape for the Grand Canyon   The Cibola National Forest is closed right now due to very high fire danger which means no hiking except in open space   think i'll get another bicycle anyways to ride for conditioning when i'm not up for a hike   maybe i can lose a couple pounds and keep it off this time   i used to bicycle all the time but got out of it when i was walking 10+miles a day delivering mail   now that i'm not doing that, i could enJOY a bicycle ride almost daily for a couple hours   i'll get another mountain bike and ride the open spaces where i hike too   that should be fun   my last mtn bike went to a yard sale for a postal co-worker who had breast cancer   it sat in the garage for a few years, so i sent it off for a good cause    anyways, i'm all ecstatic about hiking the Grand Canyon in November   don't know when the dates are exactly but it will be within the first 2 weeks of the month as requested   it'll be cool, or cold, but i'll cuddle with George if i have to keep warm   we'll be alright   we also have decided to drive over to that new bridge the Native Americans hoisted over the canyon    it's another 4hr drive west of where we will be, but we just added an extra day to the trip=provided the funds and time is available   it should work out   i always figure where there's a will, there's a way!!!!  i'm on cloud 9 and i haven't even gotten there yet.....

anyways, after lunch with Stephen i took a nap   the last 4days in training at the new job has been a bit hectic   mostly getting the confusion of alcohol sales cleared up with a phone call to my boss   yesterday when i worked there were 2 situations that arose that others questioned my judgment in one of those situations and the other was a homeless guy, apparently a regular at our store, who came in and i woodn't sell to him    the first situation, a mother & son came in and i didn't ID the son   i felt she was responsible for him and he's not the one to bring the beer up to the counter  well Johnny who i was workin' with felt different   so i ID'd the kid anyways who turned out to be 21 anyways   o well    as far as the homeless guy,  we are not to sell to intoxicated people, plus my boss said if they even smell like liquor-DON'T SELL   i don't know if he was intoxicated, but i smelled alcohol which he probably smells that way constantly   i have no idea for sure that he isn't intoxicated   plus he was stumbling on the way out the door, but i didn't judge that to be intoxicated   he could be disabled too for he was carrying a cane   anyways, the manager-in-training knew him and sold him the liquor   i just don't feel comfortable selling to the homeless who drink all the time   this happened years ago when i worked a convenience store   the manager sold to him that time  i woodn't    i have a lot of compassion for the homeless, i just don't sell to intoxicated people!

well, so much for the job   It's all good....right now i'm off to Marsha's again for a moment   forgot my tea & beer i took over there last nite   didn't have the beer last nite, think i will tonite    i took the day off from the mall   a much needed rest for today   plus i work the rest of the week every day either at the mall or at the new job=Circle K   i finally calculated that i'll quit the mall job in 2-3weeks   then it's just one job again, other than helping my friend Rev Jennie at her office a couple hours a week  that's nothing....i'm off

THANKS AGAIN RAVEN FOR THE WEBSITE TO THE WONDERFUL ART YOU DISPLAY!!!!.......the website to this art=http://www.deviantart.com/

Never Let Them

Love shouldn't hurt all the time...Never let them tell you it should.

If love feels that way, maybe it's not the love you deserve. You can be without a love in your life.
You can endure, as long as you have love in your heart. Never let them destroy that love.

There are times in your life that you will meet someone who will try and make you feel worthless.
Remember that no one can make you feel that way, unless you let them. Try to understand what motivates such behavior so that you're sure not to make the same mistake. Never let them change the way you live.

Life is meant to be lived, but a great part of our lives is committed to doing the ordinary. To live life fully, you should dedicate yourself to doing ordinary things in an extraordinary way.
Never forget that you serve a great purpose with every breath that you take on this Earth.
No one is quite like you. There is nothing better to be than who you are. Never let them tell you otherwise.

Anyone who demands perfection from you is the model of imperfection.
To be perfect would be the end of your growth as a person,
because every time we learn something new, we become better.
There is no better way to live. Never let them think you have stopped trying.

And remember, someone who builds his reputation
by destroying the reputations of others
has very little in the way of a foundation.

Never wish to be like someone else.
Make others wish they were more like you.
Never let them convince you that you are anything less than the great person that you are.

Never let them win.

the long or short of it

TELL ME WHAT U THINK!!!   ok these photos were taken today at Marsha's   all photos but of me were taken by me  a few more flowers, Marsha's dog Scooter, and of course my Sugar Plum, Lil Miss Madison...so what i want to know is do you prefer my short hair as posted in the left hand upper corner on the journal, or my new look=longer hair   yes that's curls you see  i don't have straight hair except when i keep it really really short as i've usually done   i wanted a change in my hair style or something, so i've been growin' my hair which i think i mentioned earlier   frankly i think i like the photo already posted on this journal, but i think that has more to do with being 20lbs or more lighter in weight   o well, the only way to lose that weight again wood probably be go back to walkin' 10+ miles a day at the p.o. or maybe go hikin' 6hrs a day now which i don't have time for   anyways, a change was due   not sure if i like it yet totally   will grow it at least 3more months before deciding whether to keep it or not   i'll know in time whether i'll keep it   most importantly i've got to keep it out of my face   not only for the new job, but my own sanity   can't stand hair in my face!  on a lighter note,  i had a great time winding down at Marsha's this evening  her boyfriend, her daughter & her boyfriend (well Madison's dad) were all there   it's been a very hectic 4days due to the new job & getting trained   hope it gets better   this is real work, not like selling sunglasses at the mall   this place has accountability and responsibilities  something i'm more accustomed to doing   It's all good  i have a few days off from there, but i'm still workin the mall   will resign there real soon   matter of fact i'm headed now to figure exactly when i'll resign=1-3 weeks from now    right now i just need to relax with my music   if i'm not back soon, it's still hectic   take care...laterz!

a new job!

 happy 4th of july!!!!!!!!!!!!

here's hopin' everyone's 4th is a celebration you never forget.....

started my new job today   yep i got it  was hired a couple days ago but i've been soooo busy i' haven't had the time to make a note here   so i started this morn @ 6am  worked til 2pm   it was a decent day  thought i did pretty good til the manager talked about checkin' IDs   i was calculating sum of them in my head, but i learned that i can put it in the register and we also have another scanner we can use   he emphasized checkin ids on all restricted sales which include cigarrettes, alcohol & beer   i didn't sell any liquor today because i don't have the certification class til tomorrow   since i was only selling cigs, i only occasionally checked them   well the manager told me of the sting operation they had at their store very recently   they handcuffed the guy and took him out   as in training yesterday, the facilitator talked about the sting operations going around   so yep i NEED to just get in the habit of running the ids thru the register regardless of age   i'll start that on sunday  also i need to LOOK at the photo and the expiration dates on the ids   so i did good, but definitely can and need to do better on the restricted sales especially   i ain't going to jail over nobody's ass    by the end of the shift i was ready for a cig of my own  still may have one   just cancelled going to the Isotoopes baseball game tonite because i'm so wiped out   after work i had errands to do out in the sun   another drainer to my day   although there has been sum rain the past few days, it's still too hot during the day   so i'm going to lay low tonite   besides i learned today that the baseball game has standing room tickets only for tonite   really not up for that kind of crowd tonite   thought everyone wood be out of town since it's a 3day weekend   anyways, i'll take a nap and maybe go to sum other fireworks tonite   then i could take my camera and unipod and try catching the spectacular displays of fireworks tonite   have a safe weekend everyone....Remember our troops that are still overseas during this holiday   HAPPY BIRTHDAY AMERICA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
